Terms of Service

Effective 2026-05-31

1. Who's who

"labpoe" (labpoe.com) is a service operated by Defensible Logic, Inc. ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you ("you") agree to these terms. If you don't, don't use the service.

2. What labpoe does

labpoe lets you control and monitor managed PoE switches and power distribution units — toggling and power-cycling ports, reading link and draw state — over a web UI and a JSON API, including from CI. On the hosted service your hardware is reached through an agent you run on your own network; the control plane never connects to your devices directly.

3. Accounts

Using the service requires an account registered with a valid email address, which you must verify. You're responsible for keeping your password, MFA factors, API keys, and agent tokens confidential, and for activity under them.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or applicable law, or if we reasonably believe your use threatens the integrity, security, or availability of the service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • connect, control, or power-cycle hardware you do not own or are not authorized to administer;
  • use an agent, switch configuration, or the API to reach, scan, or relay traffic to hosts or networks you don't control;
  • attempt to access another tenant's switches, devices, keys, agents, or account data;
  • circumvent the rate limits or per-tenant quotas the service enforces;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source of any non-public component.

4a. Reporting abuse

Suspect a tenant or agent is being used in violation of section 4? Email abuse@labpoe.com with what you can — tenant/agent identifiers, timestamps (UTC), and a brief description. We aim to acknowledge within one business day and act on credible reports promptly. We don't publish reporters' details.

5. Data handling

Switch and PDU credentials you enter are encrypted at rest. We don't use them except to operate the connections you configure. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and why.

6. Plans & pricing

labpoe is free during its current phase. If we introduce paid tiers, their terms and prices will be published before they apply to you, and existing free usage will not be charged retroactively.

7. Service availability

We aim for continuous availability but offer no specific SLA on free usage. Service may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or causes outside our control. labpoe is not a safety system; don't rely on it as the sole control path for anything where loss of power control could cause harm.

8. Limitation of liability

labpoe is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Defensible Logic, Inc. and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or damage to hardware, even if advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability for any and all claims is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the email on your account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.
